A Botch is a specific type of failure of a dice roll. It indicates that not only did the roll fail, but it failed disastrously. A failed roll is a botch if both of the following occur: no Successes are rolled and the number "1" is rolled on two or more dice. In the case of a roll where only one die is rolled, the number "1" only needs to be rolled on one die, not two. If a rule dictates what happens when a botch occurs, that should be applied. If there is no rule dictating what the effect of a botch is on a specific roll, the Seneschal should determine an acceptably disastrous result. But in either case, the result of a botch should always be worse than that of a normal failure.
